I talked with a F&G guy in Jackson last week and he said the tag numbers in G and H will be cut in half to around 800 permits per unit. Western Wyoming lost 70% of the fawns and 30% of the adult deer. They suspect up to 1/2 of all doe absorbed their fetuses just to survive the winter.
These next few years will be slim especially, 4-5 years down the road. The drought over the past 6 years has taken its toll on the sage and habitat, which is passing the effects onto the deer herd. There weren't that many dandy bucks on the winter range this past year to begin with.
