Rumors!
Has anyone heard of the typical mule deer sheds found on Antelope Island that scored 220?
Has anyone heard of the typical found in southern Utah that scored 224? and was sold to Hatch.
I would like to see the pictures of these sheds. I heard they were sold or were at the Cabela?s event this spring.

The island set actually gross about 225 with a 10 inch cheater, and 38 wide. That and a short right main beam would net it around 200+.

The big typical set from Southern Utah scored around 218 grosss and was a beautiful set. Richard Deircheck(sp?) was packing them around. Not sure who owns them. Both great bucks. Yes they where at Antlerfest.

I talked with Richard Dorchuck (the current owner) about these sheds. He told me that he was on an antler buying trip and stopped in Kanab to talk to Ryan Hatch. Ryan hinted that a huge typical set had been found but wouldn't give Richard any details. Anyway, Richard had an appointment to meet with a potential seller so he went to take care of business. Just by coincidence, it turned out that the seller was the one who found the big set, and Richard was able to talk him into selling the set to him. I think Ryan is mildly irritated that he didn't get them (and so am I, HaHa). I was allowed to handle these sheds, and I am very envious to say the least. They are beautiful and massive, with dark fresh color and no problems. If I was a buck in this area, I wouldn't want to grow antlers - it's just too dangerous with Ryan, Doyle, and all the other "Money" hunters around. I don't have anything against these guys, They are great, dedicated hunters that use every means available to improve the odds of success. I wish I could have some of that success, but I just can't afford to use their services.

I think this might be the AI buck you are talking about. I took these pictures while at work on the island from a long ways off. The buck had a short main beam on his right, the side with the cheater. For reference, the G2's are 22".

ausom pictures, so do you have any other pictures of bucks out their. I went out their several years ago and saw a couple of bucks in the rut. The first one had seven on each side and was 28-30 inches wide. The other was way off but you could tell he was even bigger. I tried to get a picture of him but it was closing time and I got run off before I could finish setting up my tripod.
