Well i went out last nice seen 2 bucks one 20 inch wide and barely forking of main beam and off g2. then i seen a 28 wide 3 pt that was dang near fully grown. front looked done and were nice and big, the g2s still needed growth but were already about 12-14 long, could tell they still were growing, both bucks were in the same group.

I thought it weird that the 3pt is dang near full grown already if i had to guess id say 80 percent grown, while the littl 4pt was maybe a third the way grown.

pretty sure the 3 pt buck is one i spotted last year a mile away from where i just seen him, and was probably a 170 ish 3pt when iseen him last year he disapperaed right before the hunt and i didnt see him again the rest of the year. im betting its him. gotta see if i can find the pic i took last year and compare.

what have you guys been seeing? how far grown are they?

If it's the 3 point that you saw last year and is still a 3 point, I'd take him out of the gene pool if I were you and get a chance.

I'd keep an eye on that 3 point. I don't think he's near finished growing and just might push out some trash on his top end in the next month.

There's always next year

im not worried about a big 3pt being in the gene pool. he was a nice buck last year. most people would shoot him. i was planning on shooting him til he disappeared i thought he may have gotten poached. but im guessing ths has gotta be him. ridge you bet ill watch him, there are always some bigger ones in this area so im sure ill see him again

horrible pic i know took it through my binos with my phone. but this was the one from last year and the one this year is lookking very similar just needs to add more height

We hunted a huge buck 4 years running. He was a 3X4 first year, went to a 4X4 and back to a 3X4. Same smart old buck. We knew where he hung out, but could never quite get it done.
While scouting one year on the 4th of July we saw a big non-typical buck that was fully developed and then a mile down the road we saw a monster that looked like he had two baseball bats coming out of his head, just starting to split. Over the next month he pushing out to be a book typical 4X4, 32-34" wide. I too was dumb founded at how different the two buck's growth cycle was. I would have been glad to kill either one, but it didn't happen. We had fun chasing them though.
