Don't know much about this deer other than I was told he was taken somewhere around Weed California. I'm now wondering why the heck I've been hunting Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, and Montana for Mule Deer?

WoW! That's a Dandy anywhere, looks to be well over 200".

Cali still kicks out some nice bucks and the occasional Monster, it's a way underrated State, imo.

i well could draw a decent Muley hunt this year with only 3 points and if not, stand a real good chance of drawing a tag around Weed with my second choice. Compared to some other states who's residents think that their fecal matter don't stink, we got it pretty good.

Buckhunter: Here are three of Cali's biggest monster mulies for you...don't know anything about them, but they are awesome bucks for the Golden State...or ANYWHERE, for that matter!

Hopefully this buck has passed on his genes several times. The Steens have struggled with their deer population for a couple of decades now.

I grew up right outside of weed. This would not surprise me. I know places where bucks like hang out, but they are few and far between. From the pic that looks like private land?

I have hunted nevada,Idaho,Colorado and Wyoming and I have never killed a buck as big as my best California bucks. But I have seen bigger bucks scouting in every one of those states but Wyoming then my cali best.

Weed has hybrid cross Muley/blacktail . Some are so big you would swear they were full mule deer . My biggest was 28" wide . Looked nothing like a black tail .

That looks like private cultivated farm ground. The guy holding him looks like he just stepped out of his vehicle.
No doubt that's an impressive Buck. Sorry to seem so skeptical but....

When i look at a Buck Pic like that, i'm looking at that rack in wonderment, how he ever managed to stay alive long enough, and how he managed to be in a place that allowed him to get that look, grow that magnificent a set of antlers.

Big ol muley bucks look good no matter where they come from. No doubt though, large Private land blocks have the best capability to hold bucks like this. That there's a Monster Muley!
