AZ - Unit 8 - Elk

Can anyone give me some insight into AZ Unit 8? I was told it was a good unit, but it hasn't received any comments on other posts. I have an archery elk tag for this season. What can I expect - size of bulls, hunters, etc? Any information would be helpful. Also, could anyone recommend a reputable local (Flagstaff or surrounding area) guide?

I would call Duwane Adams 520-385-4995 www.arizonabiggamehunting.com check out his website and call him about this unit. He has a couple guides that live in the unit and have been very successful in the past.................. Thanks, Allen Taylor......

yes, go out and scout. Look at maps, drive roads, and drink. That is sometime the best part of the hunt.

Most of the bulls in 8 are gay. Good luck.

Unit 8 has produced some absolute MONSTER BULLS. I believe the previous world record was from that unit in fact.

I've heard a lot of good things about Rim-rock Outfitters. I would definately look into them.

I know a guide that has hunted unit 8 for most of the last 30 years and if you want a guide he is the guy without question. He guided a hunter to a 401 inch bull last year in that unit.
