Wyoming zones, app. question

I am thinking ahead since I just got my proclamation. I want to apply for a really good hunt area with a good chance for above- average bucks and lots of non-wilderness public land for a non-resident to hunt. I realize the draw odds will not be good at all. I have heard good talk about area 128 (I know, I'm dreaming) so that might be my first choice, but what about choice two and three?

I realize I stand very little chances at drawing, but that is what I want for a quality hunt. I figure that if I put in for really, really good zones in 4 or 5 different states, I might actually have a chance at drawing a good tag every few years. A guy can dream right.

As I understand it your 2nd and 3rd choices do not matter in Wyoming unless the area is underprescribed for.

COSA is right, the only chance of drawing a second, third... choice is if those choices were undersubscribed after the first round. You basically only get a shot with choice #1 so pick a good one. 128 is excellent along with 102 and 84(checkerboard with limited access). Some of the late hunts northwest of Thermopolis are suppose to be good to but I've never actually hunted them. The Region G General is good to but you need to scout it out before season and hope that the crowds don't spook your buck. Good Luck, you can't draw if you don't apply.

You can always apply for regions that have leftover licesnes like B, J and T (that I'm aware of)for a second or third choice. But if you get those as a second choice, be sure to line up a decent place to hunt. There are private ranches in those areas that have decent deer, but you'll need to look to find them. Public land in the lefotver areas is not good, so be sure to do some research nad find a good ranch.

Area 128 has a 4% chance on a special tag.You could still get region H on a 2nd and possibly 3rd choice special tag.Hope this helps somewhat....Devlin
