Does anyone out there know about mule deer hunting in the Yukon? I've chased them east and west, and pretty far south and north, and I'd consider going to the Yukon for a muley, too. (If there are any good opportunities.)

Do you need an outfitter? Any suggested contacts? All of you BC and Alberta guys should know about this. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am pretty sure that throughout Canada you must use a guide. I havent heard of Mulies in the Yukon, I would look into B.C. and as you know there are a few guys on here that should be able to help you out....... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

ICM,
It is my understanding that there is no season for the muleys in the Yukon. MattB probably would know more about it since he guided there last year.
There are several outfitters that opportate on the BC side of the Yukon border that offer combo hunts with muleys being the 2nd species.

Mule deer deer hunting is prohibited in the Yukon. I guess the population of mule deer in the Yukon is only between 500-1000 animals.

If you could find an outfitter in the Fort St. John area, that could be about the most northernly hunt available for trophy mulies in BC. Yet there might not be any guides up there offering a deer hunt. Check out the Guides and Outfitter's of British Columbia website for the most accurate information about guided mule deer hunts in BC.

Here's the website-

Thanks, guys. I'll be in Northern Alberta this fall, so I'll do some checking while I'm there. I had heard there were mule deer in the Yukon and just wondered. I'll bet even with just 1000 or so, there are a few whoppers if they don't get hunted.
