Fishing around Casper

This might get a little touchy... I have heard of and seen some pics of great trout coming out of WY the last couple years. Is there any place to go near Casper, thought I could go fishing for a day when I go up scouting or if we finish early could try again in September.

I think you are probably looking at the fish coming out of the Platte. No secret there, but you may look at bringing a drift boat as the shores are all pretty much private and no access. Or call a fishing guide for a trip.

The platte has great trout fishing, there are several river access points along the way that you could fish. But the best without a drift boat are Grey Reef, or The mile.

There is also good trout and walleye fishing in the resivours too.
