Sorry guys I have been so busy since the end of last hunting season I have not had time to post the buck I took. Special thanks to everyone who offered advice. Id like to thank IdahoRon for all his knowledge on muzzle loader hunting.

After hunting dawn till dusk for all 16 days of the hunt I was lucky enough to take this 27" 4pt on the evening of the last day. Saw a lot of bigger bucks I was just not able to seal the deal on them.

I am also including the rest of the 45-3 bucks we took in our hunting party. RIP 45-3 as the F&G decided to eliminate the hunt.

As a matter of fact the muzzleloader is IDAHO LEGAL! I DONT HAVE TO JUSTIFY ANYTHING TO YOU PEOPLE. AND TO THE BUTT-HOLES WHO CALLED IDAHO FISH AND GAME YOU CAN SUCK IT!!!

You retards really think I would put a picture to incriminate myself knowing that I can be traced!!!

Nice try morons! Don't you know they make IN LINE Idaho legal muzzleloaders!!

Those are the last pictures I EVER share with you rat bastards!

Go ahead and call them again!! I already proved to them it was legal!

I didn't accuse you of anything, bro. To me it appears to be a Traditions muzzleloader, and most of those use closed 209 ignition. I believe those are illegal in Idaho, but I have not checked the latest regs.

The gun appears to be illegal, so go ahead and get pissed at yourself if you wish. You hid your own face in the pics, and it looks likely to the casual observer that the buck was poached. And then you get very defensive when no accusations were even made in this thread. All of these things are actions of a guilty person. But again, I don't know the whole story so I'm sticking to my original post - "Maybe" the gun is illegal. "Just a guess."

Feel free to post as many pics as you want, but be aware that if you post suspicious looking photos with no explanation you're probably gonna get called out.

The casual observer needs to go to an eye doctor. Maybe the picture isn't as clear on here as the original pics.

Traditions vortek striker fire comes in a "Northwest" legal model.

Look at the second picture closer you'll see the exposed cap part of the breach plug. Takes a musket cap which is Idaho legal.

My only regret was sharing a photo for others, only to be accused of poaching. I am an ethical Hunter and I'm just disappointed people think I poached that deer.

I didn't say you were the rat who called fish and game. Once again I'll make it clear.

Idaho legal muzzleloader was used and I proved that to the Idaho fish and game. Call them again I don't care I did nothing illegal during my hunt.

Glad to hear its a legal gun, and also glad you got a nice buck on the hunt. The open ignition is not easily visible in the pics, and I'm not up to date on all the latest guns and regulations. Just saying it appears fishy to the casual observer such as myself, and I continue to stand by that opinion. But now that it has been explained its all clear.

I've wanted to do an Idaho deer hunt for a few years now and I wish they had more muzzleloader opportunities. I actually like their regs. From what I remember they don't have many hunts for muley bucks that are muzz only.

Don't let it get you worked up. He clearly didn't know what he was looking at. A lot of guys think this rifle is not Idaho Legal but it is.

Great bucks!!

Somebody clearly did not know what they were looking at and called fish and game anyways. Its a wonder anybody posts their pictures.

This board has gone to complete #####....this current crop of self important tool bags makes me wish the old tool bags were still around...called the fish and game lol..someone should slap your mother.

Nice buck BTW. Did you see any elk?

If you guys would take a step back and listen to yourselves. Poaching is so vehemently opposed on these forums and if anyone is found guilty we wish a death sentence upon them. We are encouraged to report suspicious activity and stand up against criminal actions. But in this case, when somebody reported suspicious activity, they got branded as butt-holes, morons, retards, rat bastards, and "clearly" misinformed. All I did was raise the question and I got branded as well! I'd say the butt holes are those who are over reacting to this simple misunderstanding. If you post suspicious pictures you can plan on being investigated! End of story! It doesn't make you a rat bastard for bringing a possible poacher to light!

I did not call fish and game, but I have done so in the past when I have seen more obvious cases of poaching. I'm neither surprised nor offended that somebody called. Just some good detective work being done on a suspicious case, and the suspect was cleared. No sweat.

If the OP had reacted like a normal human being, and calmly given the description of his legal muzzleloader, it never would have been an issue here on the forum. "Clearly", the law enforcement officers involved also believed this to be a potential poaching case. The fact that they investigated it and asked for proof is evidence of that. The real rat bastards here are those who would seek to hide a potential crime and excuse a poacher because: he posted pictures and we don't want to offend him. I'm glad the OP was all legal but I wonder why he got so worked up over this matter. I have been checked by law enforcement before and I just tell them the truth. No need to lose your marbles when you are the one ignorantly posting suspicious photos.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-23-17 AT 04:29PM (MST)[p]Nothing suspicious about the picture. The exposed cap is clear as day. F&G said they could tell the gun was legal, however, all CAP calls are investigated.

You are suspicious of the picture, yet you clearly state you don't know the requirements for an Idaho legal muzzleloader.

So before insinuating that I am a poacher or someone else maybe do some research on the rules, the type of muzzleloader in the picture and you wouldn't be so far in the dark on the issue.

Nothing "ignorant" about posting the picture. I don't see the archery hunters posting the picture of animal with an arrow stuck in them. Or a picture with broadhead cuts in the organs or skin.

By your logic anyone who doesn't show 100% proof to the members of this forum is suspected of poaching. Maybe someone should report EVERY picture that includes a bow next to the dead animal.

If your worked up about me using the word "clearly" you should really sit down. Take a breather, and look at what I said. I wasn't calling you out as a bad guy for reporting a potential poaching case, you just didn't know.
I honestly can see the dark spot above the hammer that is the window to see into the breach. I could easily see that. Now for someone that is not a familiar with muzzleloaders, I can see how they would not see that and get their wires crossed no big deal.

The reason that it was investigated was, it was reported. Not because there was any evidence of wrong doing. They have to follow up on a report.

Also not all CO's are familiar with all types of muzzleloaders, or bows, or scopes, or rifles what ever. Technology is advancing faster than the F&G can keep up with at times. That was another reason that it was investigated. The CO's didn't "clearly" see it as a potential violation. You are assuming things that you don't know about.

I was about to reply to these posts but I choose instead to follow the old adage: "Don't argue with an idiot. People might not be able to tell the difference." Over and out.

Nice muzzy buck you got there. Thanks for sharing.

I don't blame you for covering up your face. There was a thread earlier this year about guys losing their jobs when their respective employers found online pictures of them sitting behind dead deer... Cant be too careful.

This is why nobody posts pictures here anymore. Too many self righteous internet cops. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't accuse anyone of "maybe" or "possibly" poaching.
