I was hoping for some advice on an upcoming scouting trip to the Vernon. I am a non resident and drew the rifle tag. I had a 3 day trip planned as soon as the muzzleloader hunt ended but that plan has been ruined thanks to my son drawing a second chance elk tag in a good area here in Idaho...

Never have been able to draw the tag in the fall but drew it spring of 2011. Shoot me a PM if you want some notes to compare.

As a holder of a controlled hunt tag rather it be unlimited or not you cannot apply for that same species in the second drawing

I have a very lucky 12 year old son that drew this tag this year. I have been over scouting the eastern side of the unit a few times, Burley south to Oakley. Should I be over on the west side of the unit? Any tips or advice from any past experience in this unit would be great. Thanks
