Thanks guys for the help glad to see fellow hunters out there willing to help our young kids get out there and hunt. Seems like ive got to pry the video games out of his hands sometimes. Hope he learns something from his ole dad and Grandpa about wildlife and the gift we have to enjoy!

Stopped at road side pit stop on the White Mt Apache/state line across from Sunrise lake and bulls were screaming in unit 1! Wish I could get drawn!

Man same thing on the Navajo Rez. Had an elk tag in Sept. Saw 50+ horses and only 2 elk!

A week before the youth hunt a friend and I scouted the unit. We went in through the Blue in AZ. At first light we played with over 6 bulls and 30+ cows in 27 just calling to them and spotting them at a distance. It was awesome and we were fired up! Just a couple miles later at the AZ/NM line...

Don't think there is any bad spots in that unit. There are a lot of deer up high. If it snows the deer will most likely stay mid level were the pinon and oaks meet. Ive seen does every where from the base of the Mountain to the top. Good luck should be a quick hunt!
