    Montana results?

The deer combos were a draw, more applicants then permits. So those of you that applied for the Big Game Combo but chose to get a refund on the elk part if you didn't draw the LE elk. So, no way are you going to get a deer combo.

    Living in MT

I did the move from MN to MT. We are building a home near Lewistown. In my opinion the Judith Basin is the best of the best in MT, or anywhere for tat matter.

    Region E

For sure there is a lot of high sage desert in region E. In my experience the sage holds few deer, Get in an area where the sage meets with the foothills or canyons. Like the breaks near the Sweetwater River, Beaver Rim Down to the Creek is good Muley Country, Green Mountain has good deer...

I've spent a lot of years tromping around in region E. What do you prefer, High Rugged mountains, deep rugged badlands, pine hills or never ending sage?

    Montana 630-631 Archery "Breaks"

You wont have trouble finding public land. There's private to but it belongs to APR and others that are in the BMA's. Hot in early Sept, usually, and yep, mosquitos and snakes. You do have a better advantage with the elk before they are being chased around. But then the rut will be going on more...

    Montana 631-21

In my opinion the pressure from boats and those gaining access to the breaks from the shore is more significant then the pressure by the road hunter. The best way to avoid the hunting pressure is to study the maps, find areas that you can get off the wheeled trails by a deep canyon or better...

    Opheim Aera Mule Deer

I've been hanging around this area for a long time. Nemont is right on, a few years ago it was all good deer hunting. Opheim South, North and East is White tail country. More private property and crops, CRP, etc. To the West and SW is badland stuff. Bitter Creek, State, and BLM. Open country for...

    Alder MT

I was hunting Mule Deer in area 620 opening week. Driving South I saw all these trucks parked and hunters out in the Sage in horse shoe position kneeled in the sage. What the heck? but I knew what was happening. Elk drive, chasing the herd off private property into the open, so I parked and...

    Western Wyoming Quality

Seems its the overall health of the buck at the start of the new antler growth and at peak antler growth. A buck coming out of a hard Winter is probably stressed to the point that antler growth would be effected. And for sure a dry Spring without the high quality forage would be a factor. Or...

How many years you been hunting? - Goodie Giveaway

    Drew 410-20 eny Elk Tag

I've archery hunted elk in 410. Missouri Breaks are one of the best either sex rifle draws in the state. Hard draw for sure especially a NR. Congratulations. Good elk population and normally are spread out though the Breaks and herds well up and into the sage hills. And hunters will have the...

    Anti Hunt Rally In Yellowstone

Speaking of tree hugging lefties. They sure get worked up and bent all out of shape when someone makes a joke or negative comment on the Canadian wolves in Montana. And whats wrong with having wolf pelts. Everyone should collect a few. Whether bought, hunted, trapped or run over with your...
