The deer combos were a draw, more applicants then permits. So those of you that applied for the Big Game Combo but chose to get a refund on the elk part if you didn't draw the LE elk. So, no way are you going to get a deer combo.

Seems its the overall health of the buck at the start of the new antler growth and at peak antler growth. A buck coming out of a hard Winter is probably stressed to the point that antler growth would be effected. And for sure a dry Spring without the high quality forage would be a factor. Or...

Excellent plan to do 5 days Summer scouting. Will save tons of down time later. The Little Belts are a little more gentle then most MT mountains farther West and South. Still there is plenty of rough, steep, timber choked stuff. Most of the peaks are around 7-8 thousand feet. High country...

Just wondering if you guys know? A deers genetics don't change. For instance, A buck has the EXACT same genetics as a fawn, fork, trophy class 7+ year old. Just because a buck matures DOES NOT change his genetic potential to produce record class offspring.

The hardest work this mtmuley does is drag the deer off the road to get a pic. :) It's true, if you have closed private property to hunt where wolves have concentrated elk and deer you can do real well, why not praise the Canadian wolves. They can be a asset.

According to the website none of the Combos sold out. Also no need for an alternates list, so there must be a LOT of surplus. Licenses will be available over the counter starting the fifth of May.
