I'm thinking about putting in for a mz deer tag in the Rubys. I've really only stayed in the Hole in the Mountain area. This time I'm looking for an area to backpack into but also to do some fly fishing during the day. Is the Soldier Peak area best for this? Thanks

Thank god! On both! 2 cows is going to be a lot to eat if they tasted a little funny! I always wondered what they would taste like after following them around in that smelly marshwater. As for the numbers, I've never seen anything close to that! Good to hear. I would take pics of the bull...

Do you only have 2 days to hunt? I hunted it last year and can point out a couple spots. I'll be back in August to check out an area we saw some smaller bucks at. We?re planning on seeing what's behind that area, but that's going to take most of a day just to hike back there. Not sure where to...

The orientation is the Friday before the hunt. I have a couple people asking to tag along on the hunt and I think only one person can go, but I'm not sure. Just hoping someone here has hunted it before.

My daughter and I both drew separate cow tags at Grizzly Island this year. I live down the street from Grizzly Island and I have been putting in for years and never knew anyone that has hunted there. I'm hoping that someone here has hunted there before and can answer a couple questions before...

Thanks guys. I just started to shoot BH209 in my Omega. I've shot Pryodex for years but my Omega seems to like the BH209 a little better with hotter loads. So I guess its back to 95grns of Pryodex.

So no scopes on a muzzleloader, with a muzzleloader only tag; but its okay to use a scope on a muzzleloader with an Any Legal Weapon tag? And the regs list ?Only black powder or a black powder substitute such as Pyrodex or Triple 7 may be used as a propellant? but they left out Blackhorn 209...

Had a great time hunting in Idaho for antelope, but we were not able to take one home. The closest we got to a buck was 150 yards, and our average was around 200. We were shooting a old style 22? barrel cap gun, so we needed to get a little closer and couldn't. But we had a blast doing +6 stalks...

My buddies and I are planning on deer hunting 36 and I was wondering how the fire is going. We?re not sure if we should change our plans or not. The area we are hunting is southwest of Stanley. If anyone was planning on hunting 36 are you still going???

I'm a NR, DIY, Public Land hunter from California. I don't own a quad or even a trailer, but I do own a couple tents and backpacks. I usually try to hunt out-of-state at least twice a year. This will be my first time hunting ID. Last year my father and I put in for a deer hunt and didn't draw...

A few years ago I realized it cost more to keep running back-and-forth to D5, than it did to do a week long hunt in WY or CO. Now I try to do at least 2 out-of-state hunts a year. A lot more opportunities on animals out-of-state, but CA is still home....
