I've been wondering about the severity of this winter in regards to wildlife in the NW Colorado Meeker-Craig area. Can anyone enlighten me?

I saw a weather report that said it was -38 degrees in Craig yesterday. Is that a problem for the wildlife? Does anyone know how the winter has been for the game in NW Colorado so far this year?

We are considering flying to Colo. from pennsylvania for our 2011 elk hunt instead of driving as usual. The guys I'm going with have vacation time issues. however, we're concerned about the cost of shipping meat after having the animals [hopefully] processed. Does anyone have a ballpark estimate...
