2023 Shed Opener pushed back to May 15th

I'm being told by F&G contact a news release should be coming out shortly. The Wyoming opener is being pushed back to the 15th. I believe this is the correct decision based on conditions of the range and also the deer at this time.

    2023 Permit Numbers?

Anybody know when we are supposed to see the permit numbers? I thought the whole reason for the March application was that they were going to release permit number before the applications? Is it supposed to come out Thursday (same day apps open)? Thanks.

    Ogden Meat Processor - BEWARE

Took 400lbs of boned out moose meat to Arnold's Wild Game Processing. I received 100lbs back. Here's a picture of ALL the backstraps I received back. 5 hockey puck sized packages that measure smaller than 1 deer backstrap. I was turned down by 4 places (due to capacity) and had no choice but to...

    Utah "Rabbit Hunters" in NV

    Multi Season Elk Thoughts

In your opinion, how did the multi season elk hunt go over this year? I'm hearing a ton of complaints that there are now triple the hunters for each season in the field. I know guys that couldn't even find a camp spot on the archery hunt. The rifle hunt seems to be bad as well. I'm sure the...

    Preference Point Refund?

I would like to try and get my $40 back for an antelope point I purchased. I was thinking the $3 was all I would have to pay. I figured I would build points, but now I realize it's not worth $43 to apply for antelope in Colorado every year. Is there a way I can get my $40 bucks back or not...

    Henefer WMA Shed Match?

Picked up a nice shed on the WMA this year, but never could match it up. Anybody by chance seen the match? Lots of people running around up there this year. There were boot tracks less than 20ft from the shed when I picked it up. I assume it was picked up, but I guess you never know. Thanks

    Henry's Buck - WOW

I posted some pics up earlier this year of this buck asking if any of you would consider it on the Henry's with an archery tag. There were lots of responses and guesses. Well....It turns out a guy with the muzzy tag decided he was worth the wait. Please don't attack for the score, not my buck...

LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-16 AT 11:41AM (MST)[p]So I go to apply for turkey again with my 8 points, and I see that all but one Turkey CWMU have been removed from the applications. What in the heck do I do with 8 points now? I only have one option and that one is going to get flooded quick with...

12,000 Acres of new Public Land

There's a ranch for sale in Northern Utah for $46 Million. It's prime deer and elk country on the back side of the Wasatch Mountains. It's been on the market for quite a while and KSL just did an article about it and mentioned that they wished a public organization would buy it and preserve it...

    Big Bucks of St. George

I'm heading down on a business trip next week and will be bored as heck during the evenings. Is there anywhere near St. George that I can go look at big bucks or sheep or anything with horns/antlers? I kind of want to take a few hikes or something and just get out and explore but not too far...

    Explain 2015 Antler Growth

Many of us thought that this was going to be a banner year for antler growth. We had a very mild winter in 2014-2015 and a nice wet spring in 2015. There was plenty of grass and excellent feed in the high country. I had a Wyoming region G tag and witnessed firsthand that there was excellent...

    2015 TAC at Snowbird

I signed up for the TAC again this year and I'm really looking forward to it. We had a blast last time. I noticed that during the registration this time they are asking for a ""tee Time". Book Cliffs Muzzy Hunt

I have always heard that the Book Cliffs has gone down hill as far as quality goes. This was my first year going down there to check things out. Deseret Elk Changes

Looks like Deseret decided they were giving out way too many public elk tags. They took the ratio (private/public) from 85/15 and set it at 90/10. They now give out 89 Private tags and 17 Public tags instead of 82 Private tags and 21 public tags. I have been a supporter of CWMUs for a long...
