Just looked on NMDGF website and I don't see them on the outfitter list as being licensed to operate in NM.

My 11 Year old son drew one of the youth only tags for 7,9,12, and 13. Can't wait to start the scouting. First goat tag anyone in my family has ever drawn.

That doesn't surprise me that the outfitters pool would be. There are no nr cow tags in the draw. I would guess that most residents feel as I do and have no desire to use an outfitter to hunt cows in the proverbial back yard. I Think you would have a hard time finding under prescribed cow hunt...

I'm not so sure about that? I know you can walk right in but I don't think they have to allow motorized travel? If it was me I think I'd knock on the door and visit with the lessee first. Might pay off later. It has for me in the past.

Well we have a new record. The smallest qualifying ranch for and elk tag in NM is now 1 yes 1 acre! The "ranch" is in unit 15, and recieves a unit wide MB tag this year. I am not against all landowner tags, but at some point the abuse of a well intentioned program has to be obvious?

I always carry a seashell that I found above treeline in the pecos years ago.
