I posted this in the Utah Forum but got a suggestion to move it up here so here goes.
I am a non-res with 15 deer points. Not sure if I want to try to draw this year or not but I figure I better do some digging just in case. This will be a one-and-done hunt for me as I am soon to be 62.
South Slope, Diamond Mountain has caught my eye. The muzzy dates seem terrible but the success rate is very high. The rifle dates aren't that great either and there is a full moon smack dab in the middle of it. Does one of the two typically offer better odds for a 180 buck?
Just looking for some info from guys that have done this hunt in either of those seasons. Suggestions on other units to spend the points on would also be welcomed. Let me add, I have no problem waiting a few more years if that makes sense as 15 is right on the cusp of some other options.
Thanks in advance for any intel.
