I have been planning to post these pictures, but haven't had the time until now. My dad and I hunted together Sat.-Mon. and unfortunately I had to go back to school. (Go Aggies!) This is the buck my dad shot the last day of the hunt. (SE region) We knew the buck was in the area, but he decided to lay low until the last morning of the hunt. We passed on some good bucks, hoping for this guy to show up.
My dad called and woke me up Wednesday morning around 8:00 o'clock and I could tell immediately from his voice that his morning hunt had been a successful one. "I got a good one!" he said. It's been a long time coming, my dad has put a lot of hours in the hills and a lot of miles on his boots. We both have. It was nice to see it finally pay off. He's 33 1/4" wide. A once in a lifetime buck. I was happy for the ol' man. He is the one that started taking me when I was about 6 years old, and it's because of him that I'm so passionate about being out in the field. Whether it be hunting, fishing, or just enjoying it. A great buck for a great guy.
Hope you enjoy the pictures...
