Anybody been in 5A this past weekend? I was there for 4 days with no luck. Heard some gobbles and seen one lone hen but otherwise not much going on up there. The birds aren't responding to calls. Just wondering if anybody else has seen the same around there. I heard over in the eastern units they are going pretty good!!

was in unit 8 for 3 days, had close calls all 3 days but didn't fire a shot ??? Each day by 7 a.m. it was over, same thing No gobbels after 7.Makes for a tough hunt and add wind all day and tagging a "Longbeard" all but impossible. But,it still beats "Working" !!! Bruce & SilverGrand

I was up in 5A over the opener. Windy!!! Hunt was tough for sure!!! Heard some "Gobbles" but not much! Saw lots of Elk & Bulls in the velvet, white tail deer, mule deer and one black bear. I only saw one jake and that was about it. Saw some track around a water hole that was fresh and had a friend post up. He heard them gobble early and he started to call to them but they wouldn't commit. I think two weeks ago would have been the ticket but not this past weekend! "Big Bummer!"
