Boquillas Ranch

I drew unit 10 late this year and wanted to make sure it is still ok to hunt on the Boquillas? I have not hunted there in six years.

You shouldn't have a problem but know that the Rose Well area is still locked up.

Make sure you go up and do a lot of scouting if you are looking for a mature bull. A lot of them will have broken antlers at that time of the year, and you might be making a mistake in passing any clean 6 X 6.

This is a typical EARLY Unit 10 bull. We saw and worked a number much larger, but when this guy came charging in at 35 yards, doc just couldn't pull off of him! Note that extra point growing out of the pedical! I think it is an awesome bull despite those weak 3rds!

Don, thanks for the info. That is a great elk . I would love to see one like that.Is camping allowed on the ranch?

Yes, dispersed camping is allowed (has been in the past anyway).

Lots of neat places to camp all over the ranch.

And if I am not mistaken there are still no ATV's and horses allowed on the ranch.

Yea I remember about the ATV restrections, had to camp on state land because I brought mine with me.

You are right about the NO ATV'S AND NO HORSES allowed on the ranch. Don't even bring em! Cause you nothing but problems.
