City Creek

Anyone know anything about city creek? I know archery hunting is allowed what about muzzleloader or rifle? And can you shoot elk on there with a bow? Its very confusing researching this so many different answers nobody seems to sure about it. Any info would be appreciated

I have been hunting City Creek my whole life. As far as I know City Creek is open to rifle and Muzzleloader hunting. It is not part of the closure. I believe most of the closures are towards Emigration Canyon. It would make no sense to close City Creek. As far as elk....good question. I know the guy who runs the gate and he says yes you can hunt elk...but I have also been told you can't hunt elk in City Creek, same with moose. Why? I have no idea! I have seen giant moose in there! If you do archery hunt elk in there be careful where you go, there is a CWMU back towards Grandview Peak that is not posted. Just look at some maps and do some research just to be safe before you do hunt elk back there. Good luck!
