I know the AZ mule deer rut timing is different in different parts of the state. I was in 12a west just before thanksgiving and I saw a little forker breed a doe. The mule deer rut was going strong. Down here in the desert the mule deer bucks are still by themselves or with other bachelor groups.
That leads to my question. Is the Coues deer rut say in 6a, 21 or 23 different than the southern units? I have always heard the Coues deer rut peaks around 10th-12th of January but I didn't know if this was universal throughout state. I have talked to guys that drew late rifle WT tags and said they barely even witnessed any rutting activity.
I'm an AZ native but pretty new to Coues deer hunting. When do Coues deer typically rut in various parts of state?
Thanks for any info or insight.
