LAST EDITED ON Aug-04-08 AT 09:07PM (MST)[p]any one had any experience moving the postition of ears on a mount that has completely dried? i believe the bases are clay. i only want to move one ear, from staight foward to almost straight back. thanks.

sometimes you can take a wet wash cloth and wrap it around the base of the ears where the clay is. Use saran wrap to hold the rag in place and to keep it from drying out too fast. After some time this should rehydrate the clay underneath. At that point you should be able to move the ear. You will need to watch it closely that it stays in the position you want until it dries again.
Be careful not to try to force it if it is not fully rehyrdrated or you are bound to break something.
