Hey everyone! Today I got my second Colorado mule deer. Here is the story. (Pictures are at the end.)
We started hunting this weekend. Saw a HUGEEEEE buck Saturday, but it wasn't going to let me get a good shot. Then we came back up today. There were lots of animals... saw some pretty nice bucks but they were on the wrong side of the fence. Saw another good buck (it actually ended up being the one I shot later!)but again it wouldn't of been a good shot. After no luck that morning, we came back up that afternoon. We went right back to the place where we saw the buck that morning. After about and hour, we saw him standing out in the field. My dad and I were waiting by the edge of the field and then we set up the tripod and gun. I was so nervous! I was shaking really badly! I finally told myself "The next time the crosshairs get where they are supposed to be, Im shooting!" So, I did. Got a perfect shot... it went through two ribs, both lungs and the liver. But he didn't die, he actually started walking away! So I shot him again, and hit him in the head. Then it was all over. It was soo great! Not only was shooting the animal great, but being with the people I was with made it really awesome. I was hunting with my dad, my uncle, my cousin, his friend, my brother, and my dad's friend. I got to gut it myself... and now I get to go to school tomorrow and show all of the boys. Here are the pictures.
