NVM . . . just saw Teach's post

Went out Friday morning and saw about 50-60.Started spotting them and then a 4x4 ran in the middle of the cows and calves and started bugling. He bugled 8 times in 22 minutes. It was cool.We are still getting some good spot showers up here.Grass is tall and most dirt tanks have water in them.Should be a great year.Saw 2 bulls that are going to be real ,real good.

Unit 36 is the best, by far my favorite. I'm heading out in a couple weeks and can't wait to get out there and see what is going on. On another note has anybody done any Fall turkey hunting out there? Any advice would be appreciated.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-09-10 AT 06:53AM (MST)[p]Don't ya'll shoot/runoff all those 6x's before the late rifle. Was up Ruidoso/Cloudcroft area couple weeks back and saw a lot of muley's at the condo in Ruidoso and many elk up the Ski Apache road whatever it is called.

Rained every afternoon around 4ish but not a lot. Country does look good so expect a good growing season at least this later part of the season.

Did manage to do my share of contributing to the local economies of Cloudcroft/Ruidoso as we played golf at The Lodge course as well as IMG course, lost money at ALL casinos we entered as well as losing sixteen straight races during two visits to the track - but I hit them back pretty had the LAST TWO races to kinda make it better.

Damn, chainsaw bear guys on Hwy 70 hit me pretty hard as I had the grandkids in tow.

Certainly a lot of real estate on sale as well. Enjoyed the family trip and now ready to return in Oct/Nov to see what all you early hunters have left for me.

Best of luck to all who have drawn in one of the best units in the great state of NM.
