LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-06 AT 02:17PM (MST)[p]Thanks guys. I'm the first to admit that I've been very lucky on muleys the last few years.
He's just shy of 27" wide, and scores in the mid 170s. I think he looks quite a bit bigger than he scores, but he's not got much going on in the front and his inside spread is greater than his main beams.
All I know is he looked huge staring at me and I couldn't pass him up
I try not to get caught up with the score thing, but I think it gives us all a reference and an idea of what we're all talking about.
It takes some great fronts and major tine inches to break into the 180 realm of typical muleys.
This buck wasn't near as wide, but man does he have some forkage.
Here's a pic of a buck that another hunter shot. I had seen this buck earlier in the hunt and tried to kill and film it by myself. I couldn't get it done and blew the buck out of the area. I had the buck under 200 yards broadside, but couldn't get the camera on him in time. I'm kicking myself for not just shooting him, but there's nothing I can do about it now...
I caught it all on film. I wasn't too happy
I've yet to shoot one with much trash or to break the 30" mark, hopefully this is the year-one more tag!
