Want to See A Colorado Moose

Will be hunting in the meeker area the first elk rifle season. We usually take a few days after the season and just hang out after the season is over. The last few years we went for a drive on differant occasions to try to see some but all we have seen are the signs that say caution moose in area. We are willing to go a hour or two if we need to to see some. We have seen them in montana just not in colorado. I guess we would just like to say we saw a moose in Colorado.

Virgil, If you don't mind the drive, you might try the Maroon Bells. A bull and 2 cows have been showing up at Maroon Lake lately. Naturally, no guarantees but several people have been seeing them you won't be disappointed in the mountain views.

Walden is the moose capital of colorado. Its a couple hours from meeker though but you will see moose.

We saw a small bull yesterday on Kebler Pass, First Moose I have seen in our area.

North Park is great, but the Laramie River Valley from Chambers Lake north about 16 miles is also good. Look for them in the willows along the river and stream bottoms.

This is a photo of a big bull that just rubbed off his velvet 2 weeks ago.

+ 1, wildland. I always see moose on that road, just slow down for the willow'd areas and you should see some.
