Now that the hunts are over and the snow is falling, I can't help but think about winter range bucks. It's a time of great anticipation and high hopes for what might show up this year on the ranges I frequent from Utah to Wyoming. I have quite a few pics so maybe I will make it a couple different posts. But here are a few pics of bucks and some of their sheds I have picked up if I got lucky.
The four above pics are in I think 2008, the next three pics are of him the following year in 2009. We had a really hard winter in 2008 and it took its toll on him cause the following year He came back looking week in body and his antlers lost some inches in antler size, but still nice and wide. I think he was getting old. I never saw him again after that year. How wide do you think he is both years?
The next three pics are a buck I watched for three years, cool character on this one.
This buck has also come back three years in a row, ya gotta like it when they drop their sheds right next to each other.
