I have several of those trophies tacked up on my wall at work. When I look at them it gives me incentive to get in better shape, practice shooting more and to hunt harder and smarter the next time.

The nice thing sbout those trophies is that they are real easy to pack out:)

Just remember that you have to acquire a few of those unfilled tags if you set your sights only on the best bucks An area has to offer. As long as the hunt was enjoyable is really what matters.

Nice one! Congrats!

I got a few handfuls like that from various states as well. Sometimes those are more precious than just getting a buck opening day and not having the rest of the season to keep looking around getting to enjoy fall in the mountains.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-16 AT 06:36PM (MST)[p]You just saved yourself some money . No Taxidermist bill or butcher cost. ;-) You can cut that tag up on your own.

Wow Longun!
I feel bad for ME that your tag is unfilled. I've been awaiting another real "toad" of a buck from you! I've enjoyed looking at your successes.....but, good for you. Keeping it real and of the highest standards.
I hope you had a wonderful time out in the wilds.
Best, Zeke

You cook those with your favorite bottle. Cook well done...not medium rare. Those tags sometimes taste better than one with a notch in it. I have several. I think I'm going to raid my dads safe and mine and make a frame of our family's and give it to him for Christmas. Talk about memories. A new family hierloom. Just a thought

Oh I could go whitetail hunting still......to cheap to drive a couple hundred miles.......got 2 Elk tags this year so that's our meat in the freezer thing....

I'd be curious if you got checked hunting with a detached tag, how the G&F would handle that. A ticket I believe...

>Your belief is wrong.....the tag isn't
>signed and the dates are
>all intact...

Read it right on the tag: "DO NOT SIGN OR DETACH BEFORE YOU KILL THE ANIMAL"

H#ll no we wouldn't let him in, We like to keep some big Bucks around and he would find them all. LOL
He is a might farther west.

No not G&F. But unlike most I read the statutes and regulations. It's worthwhile, you might try it.
