That Front Fork Touching the Camera Lense?

Back Me Off to 1,700 Yards,650 is a Little Close & I'm Not Comfortable with it!

A GUT SHOT at 1,700 Yards will Still Make Some Good BRAGGIN Rights so I Can Say I At Least Hit Him!

:) he must have a patent on that lense. That buck doesn't need any silicone or lipstick. Dandy buck. Wonder if he does any workshops on photo management and trophy placement. He would be booked all summer....??

Why does that deers head look bigger than his whole body? lol Godzilla deer.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-17 AT 07:32AM (MST)[p]The guy does it every year, with a bow, takes great pics, and has more amazing bucks than most of us combined. Show some respect.

Your jealousy oooozes out of your gaping mouths.

And you will comeback with "well he pays for high dollar this"... and "he has a guide" and "wa wa wa wa".

Every year, same guys baggn on success. Bottom line. He had a great hunt .... bucks are on his wall. When you get done complaining about the pic or the lighting or the shape of the deers head.....that buck will still be hanging on Randys wall.

Try saying something positive on this site. Trolls tend to push others away. Attempt to inspire.... Like Randy has :)

Omg that deer is huge, Randy has the best smile,he has the best camera, has the best bow, probably drives the newest truck and lives in the hugest house, probably has the hottest wife, he's so cool OMG!! Is that better Aspen ?

VERY nice deer and I have a lot of respect for Randy. That said, that is a terrible photograph IMO. Totally distorts the antlers so you really can't tell how good they are. Great buck, great hunter, bad photo.

If anybody around here is ruining this post it's you!

Never said anything negative. It's a beautiful deer, no reason to take the picture like this to make it look bigger than him.

Yeah I've got to agree his pictures are always too extreme. Before I even look at the picture I know about how it's going to look. Nothing against him or his abilities, obviously he's a great bow hunter. He obviously just likes his pictures that way. Id love to see all his bucks with normal proportions cause I honestly can't tell how big they actually are. I assume they are pretty big though!

Great buck!! I shot with Randy in several warm ups years ago at some of the Cabela's 3-D tournaments. He was pro and I was amateur. He was always supportive and helpful. He's a good guy and a hell of a bow shot.

Great buck, that I'm sure most of us could never ever pass.

I don't think people are being that negative, it's just nice to get a perspective that gives you an idea of what the buck really is. The only thing that is for sure in this case, is that the buck is not as big as the picture would want you to believe.

I've never met Randy, but he can obviously really hunt well. I'd love to spend about 2 hours chatting with him and hearing about how he's getting it done. Is it more time than I put in, better places, more helpful buddies, more patiences, or something I'm not aware of at all????

My guess is he puts in the time, works hard, and hunts private land

Maybe he buys GPS locations...

Great buck from Randy, as expected. That country looks tough to bow hunt, too. I do not know Randy personally, but he seems like a good guy and I've heard nothing but positive things about him. I think he gets a voucher, but hunts public land from what I know. Assume that's a CO buck.

He just gets it done.

I know he buys tags and uses Mogollon Rim Outfitters alot the last few years to hunt a specific spot in Nevada and been killing monsters that way for a few year, in mid elevations. This photo looks like high elevation though.

The first four posts were about the angle of the lens, the angle of the buck, etc.

Hey Randy! NICE BUCK DUDE! Wish you would share your secrets because you kill'em every year! You take great pics. I am not an art critic so I will leave critiques of your photography and placement of elements up to the other art professionals here. Thanks for sharing Randy!

I know I carry the "jealous" gene. Randy gets world class bucks on an annual basis! The trick is being able to hunt quality units on an annual basis. Landowner tags, vouchers, and quality tags bought with big $ is the key to most of his success. Things would be a lot different if he had to stand in line drawing high demand tags like most of us!

It helps that Randy is a fantastic shot and hunter...but that really doesn't help much if you can't draw tags!

Good for him! That's another giant to his collection. All the more power to him if he has been able to do well enough to buy whatever tags he wants and hunt wherever and whenever he wants. He obviously can get it done on the hunting end as well. I'll admit, i'm a bit envious of his opportunities he gives himself, but I certainly don't hold it against him.
Jims, you're right, if he had to rely on drawing a good tag here and there over the years, his trophy collection would be significantly smaller!
Also, you also have guys with his resources, who don't have near the success as he does.

He kills monster bucks year after year, obviously he has the resources and time to dedicate to it, and I am sure he is a heck of a hunter because of it which shows in the results he produces.

I could have fun with the photo because it's an easy target.

But congrats to him, again.

There is something for us to learn from him. Every year it's a velvet buck, always a toad!

Anyone pick up on that?

IMO that quality of a buck is the most vulnerable in velvet, or in the rut. So how many of us are going to put our guns away and start chasing deer in august? Probably not many.

And although he does buy landowner tags in Nevada, archery is way easier to draw than rifle.

Most of us will wait the 6-12 years it takes to draw that rifle tag, pray for snow or an early rut, then start over. I decided this summer, after seeing quality bucks daily (nothing like his) that an archery choice or 2 is going to be on my app from now on. And I'll deal with the heat and insects, but will be seeing quality bucks regularly.
