Region F Archery Season Advice

I drew Region F tag and will be archery hunting early September. I have been looking at units 105/106. I am a non-resident so cannot hunt the wilderness areas. I understand most of the muleys in these units migrate through in October/November timeframe. I am aware of the G&F changes and have adjusted my expectations accordingly. This is really just a meat hunt to gain some mule deer hunting experience.

I understand this isn't the most desirable tag, but I am trying the make the most out of it. I would appreciate any suggestions for early archery season (September 1st) hunt. Thanks in advance.

Driven up the north fork a couple times recently and have seen some deer high up the valley close to Yellowstone. Still very green up there. The lower you get the less green you see. I figure it would be a tough archery hunt. I rifled hunted up there last year.

>How did it go??

It was a tough hunt and we definitely got our tails handed to us. Seems like we were there too early. Went early September and the heat didn't help. Game warden said he had seen 1 doe in the past month.
Tons of sign just all old. Clearly rifle hunting the migration is the best option in that area. I appreciate Millsworks providing quite a bit of helpful information. Learned a ton and I am looking forward to my next Western hunt.
I haven't posted anything since I am brand new to Muley hunting and have had nothing to contribute. I understand your frustration with folks asking questions like I did but I appreciate Millsworks helping out. I am here to learn so I appreciate the help.

Binichols! Great for the follow up! I figured that would be a tough hunt. I live in NW Wyoming. If you want to chat and looking for better options send be a PM.

You say you're new to muley hunting, but not everyone on here has multiple 200" muleys hanging on the wall! :D :D
Keep reading and posting. You may be new but you obviously understand the WY draw process, the archery tags, Region F, and probably more than you think!

If I read your post correctly, you drew the Region F (rifle) tag, and purchased the additional archery tag. Were you not able to go back during gun season?
