Antelope Unit 113

Looking to antelope hunt unit 113 this fall. Anyone out there hunt this area? Just looking for general information on public access, and general antelope hunting in that unit. There looks to be a fair amount of BLM.

80,000 acres of BLM and it's all landlocked by private. No access into the heart of it without paying to go thru private land. Get the landowner list and start calling. Once it storms it's really hard to get back in there.

What Murphy said. I've hunted it the last 2 years. There is a little public you can access but not much. There is a huge chunk of BLM but unless you can fly or you pay a trespass fee you can't get on it. Decent amount of antelope if you get on the right ranch. Last year it snowed and you couldn't get around at all which makes it real tough to hunt. I did get a pretty good buck but I got lucky. I would say the average buck for that unit is maybe up to 13' but they seem to have real good mass. Not many bigger - they are there but you have to look at a lot of goats and get lucky to find one.
I'm ging to try further south this year in a unit that opens earlier and has more public. If you consider the amount you pay for trespass plus tag your better off maybe going in the special draw in a better more public unit.

I have been looking at deer 31 which falls inside of antelope 113. It will be a region c deer tag so deer 29 is an option also. But I've been looking at the blm map and I don't understand how that land is inaccessible. Could either of you please pm me or post here. I'm looking at access through dugout road and then I guess tisdale mountain road. Could either of you let me know here or pm or email me. thanks.

Well, you can go in Dugout road but to access the BLM would I think be considered corner jumping which I've been told is not a good thing in Wyoming. I know the landowner that owns the private around Dugout and he wouldn't much like your trespassing. But even if you did get access, I've hunted that side of the road the past 2 years, in fact I was up in that very spot last year and really no deer to speak of there. I had asked the rancher if he allowed deer trespass and he said there aren't enough around to have anyone hunt. But your welcome to look.

Cory, I PM'd you some ph#'s. It really is a frustrating place to gain access. I didn't see much in the way of bucks either but I never did get back in where I wanted to.

Thanks for the replies and advice. So dugout road is private? The people I talked to at wyoming game and fish and BLM office both said that if the road is on the BLM map it is public road. Thanks.

Dugout road isn't private, there is about a section of land there maybe a little more that is public and the road runs along the southern edge. But then your off the public and into private. If you look at the BLM map or a topo map, you would have to corner jump to stay on public, may what to ask any Wyoming folks about corner jumping, as I recall its a no no and considered trespassing.

I actually hunted out in that spot last year - really ins't much for deer - not trying to keep my "secret spot" or anything but if you look at that area it just isn't much for deer. In the 2 years I've hunted 113, I've seen maybe 6 deer, 2 were small bucks and the rest were does. These were all along the south border of 113 on public. I do know some guys that hunt deer across the street in what is unit 21, along the south end. If you talk to the bio - his name is Dan he will tell you anything you need to know, he is a great guy and really knows that area well.
Good luck
