Hard to tell people with 30 points that they are getting phased out. I agree though the point system is a problem. I think small changes here and there could help improve I just don’t know if it’s too late.

Plus the original person doesn’t get a point for that year so it puts them a year behind, just like it is now when you turn in a tag.

What about all the units that aren’t private? A lot of units down south are mostly forest. Giving the flexibility to hunt elk during other hunts allows for higher success rates and fills those tags. It also spreads people out. I understand change is the only thing that’s consistent but this one...

You are on the committee right? Serious question, why change the hunting a late season cow during a general season tag like deer or spike elk? This has provided extra opportunity and spreads people out. Two things the proposal aims to do.
