I know the nw part of the state has a major cwd issue. My buddies deer tested positive. We also saw a number of very sick looking deer in archery. As mentioned, I'm sure tags allocations and predators have helped keep the numbers down as well.

Landowner Tags are issued in early to mid june. You will have to do some research and calling around to find the specific unit and weapon/ hunt you are looking for. I'd imagine you Want to hunt anywhere in the unit, so make sure it's a unit wide tag.

You really should wait just 2 or 3 more years. There are a few much better hunts available as someone posted earlier. 2 or 3 more years is not much to wait when you already built points for 11 years. You could be hunting some really big bucks with the right scouting and right time in the EARLY...
