Bucks are in the early stages in my area. 2 fighting yesterday, rattled one in 2 days ago. Necks are swollen, but the does are just not ready yet. The peak will be the full moon on the 2nd.

    210" World record bighorn photo

That is the same ram!! There is damage to the skull in the exact same place as the mark on his forehead. Right between the eyes. I'll bet he just beat the crap out of that part of his head fighting with all the other rams.

Yeah!!! I think I will try to keep a small pile of strategically placed birdseed in the backyard around March or so.... Make him really comfy, so his sheds will drop right in the grass!! That would be nice! Tim

    How do you hunt elk?

To start with it's nice if you can find a good saddle on a long ridge to start out. Animals will use these saddles to escape if they feel pressure. If it was hot and dry..... FIND WATER.. Hunt on North Facing slopes. The vegetation will be much thicker, it will be cooler and provide shade for...

    Topographical HandHeld GPS? Recommendations...

I have a Magellan Sport Trak Map. It sells for about $169 now. used to be over $200. Get the Topo USA to go with it and you are set!! It is really easy to use, very readable, accurate, and gives me a ton of confidence in the field. I will not hesitate to go into the thickest and nastiest...

    Hunting Quotes

Before we leave for our separate stands to hunt: "Straight Bullets..." Reserved for the last weekend when you still have Doe tags: "If it's Brown, it's Down" When someone shoots a small deer: "You shot BAAAAAAmbi" pronounced like a sheep's BAAAA. I also like the "Wack 'em & Stack 'em" Tim

    odd encounters

When I was 15 back in Wisconsin, I was in my treestand in the middle of a huge swamp on opening day of deer season. I heard this awful thrashing deep in the swamp and picked out some orange (another hunter). This guy was LOST to the max. He was running through the swamp in a total panic just...
