Found an Elk Tenderloin in the Freezer

Looks like Christmas came a couple months early!

    Is there an answer?

One major issue is Ignorance of individuals who complain without any sound reasoning. They lack the understanding of problems we are faced with and no matter how hard the biologists with the dwr, and many others with real knowledge, try to explain and address the situation, they just refuse to...

Dad's 2023 Book Cliffs Muzzy Bull

240 yds with the Hawkin goes to show what that older generation could do with some practice and a little confidence. Congrats to both of you, great memories!!

    Panguitch elk pt. 2

The knock on panguitch bulls used to be small thirds. Not so on that bull, those are killer thirds. Congrats, great looking trophy!

    Pahvant 430 Bull

If it's panguitch I'd be curious to know where. I hunt a lot of places in the unit and all have more growth since the fire than shown in that picture. Also, as mentioned above, that looks to be a more recent burn, but I'm definitely not an authority on the subject.

    Archery report

Beautiful picture hoss! I hope I never get to the point where killing a 200" buck is the only measure of a successful outing. Especially with my and in tow.

Pavant down the tube for deer

Round and round it goes. I have a youngster that works for me who killed a two point last year and was exstatic, as was I to see his excitement. I helped him gut it and lo and behold it had no ovaries, uterus or any other way to produce fawns, so I wasn't too concerned about him decimating the...

How long is too long? Taxidermist scam

I like to Euro the head while I wait for the taxi to get the cape back. Some of the heads I wish I'd have kept the euro instead of the skin mount even though the taxidermist did a great job. Just like the euro look better in certain cases. That said, I did wait three years for a mount one time...

    What does this bull score?

Very unique bull. I'd flip an arrow, but whether I'd hit him or not with the uncontrollable shaking is another story.

Species choice. What would you do?

I've never hunted whitetail so I'd shoot it to give the meat a try. Especially if it is a big one. Then I'd do a euro mount and put it up between a couple of mulies.

    What a season!

You won't have to but a single piece of meat for a year! Great job, quite an accomplishment.

    Poached buck

Is it possible it was gored and not shot? I'm not certain how often it happens with muley's but I know it does with elk. I had a friend videoing elk on the San Juan years ago that watched a six point ram another bull in the side and watched it die right there.
