With this years hunt dates, the muzzy will be the tag to have! As for Wasatch or Manti, take your pick, they both offer MANY elk!

Seriously, I would just but the Switchback pants in Mimicry and layer. The element pants can get very warm. Just remember, that camo is camo, BUT smell is everything!

There are some great packs out there. I currently have a Badlands 2200 and it has been used to pack out a dozen elk in the past three years and this year put 1/2 of a big cow in it. Naother pack that has not been brought up is the Blacks Creek Remedy 7. They are US made in Caldwell, Idaho...

Really, the Youth Elk hunt is the problem....the youth hunt is only on General units and does not affect the LE draw units.

For what is worth, I would certainly wait. There is nothing like experiencing a bull hunt in the rut and the weather will be considerably better..........

The Monte Cristo area can be hit/miss. The best part about this hunt is that it is in the rut and no one else is hunting. The areas around Flaming Gorge and up above Vernal(Red Cloud Loop)are definite possibilities.

Well, if that bull presented a shot on my archery LE tag, definitely would not hesitate! Kind of tough to be picky with a bow in hand unless you are willing to eat the tag.

That size of bull will already be out to their 5ths and probably their sixth tines. It is absolutely amazing how fast they grow! Some of the smaller bulls will be to their fourths. This time of year they move around a LOT. If you can, watch them all! Good luck on an AWESOME hunt this fall!

Just might be the nicest outdoor 3D course in the state. Sits on the north slope under the canopy of maples so you are in shade the whole time.

Man, I would certainly look at Idaho over Colorado and especially Wild Idaho outfitters and flying J outfitters. You could also PM user MIDNIGHT on Monster Muleys as he guided for them last year.

$280 pending charge, just might be hunting Boulder LE archery elk.......

If people really cared about the deer, they would volunteer to help on the projects. Last weekend only about 50 showed up for the bitter brush planting project in Stockton. A big thanks to the MDF and UWC for giving of their time. LOTS and LOTS b**ch and moan, but very few actually do...
