It looks like my wife drew Book Cliffs muzzleloader with 10 points. She drew an archery tag for the same unit 13 years ago. Great memories from that trip, can't wait to make some new ones.

I'll be up there Friday. The top of my leveling bubble is my 100 yd mark. The rest of the pins line up from 20 to 80. That 120 yd shot they had up there two years ago was a challenge.

Make sure you practice with the real blades too, there a little wider than the practice points and might fly a little different. Better to find out where they're hitting on a target before you let one fly at an elk. Good luck on your hunt. I'll be hunting a big stinky on San Juan this year.

I've been shooting 100 grain Muzzy 3 blades for years with excellent results. Switched to a 4 blade and hated them, couldn't get them to fly worth a shiz. Now having said that, everyones set up is different so they may shoot fine for you. I'm just sharing my personal experience with them.

It's a wintering area, all depends on the snow. If the Colorado side gets heavy snow, it can be a great hunt, if not...you can always practice skipping rocks across the river.

As already mentioned, the wait between shots got to be a bit long. The course itself is well thought out, it's a bit rugged with high altitude thrown in just for fun. Some of the targets are well protected, a 60 yd uphill shot at a bighorn comes to mind, boulders in front and behind him= BROKEN...
