Elk_horn, I'm not sure where you killed you buck or bull last year but in the southern region it is free to limited entry permit holders since the DWR ages them anyway to determine the average age of harvested bucks/bulls on limited entry units. Last I was told was they expected the tooth age...

You don't have to pay $20, not sure where that idea came from. The DWR will mail you a letter stating how old your buck or bull was within a couple weeks after they get the results back from the lab.
