    Have you considered just taking some backstrap home with you on the plane and donating the rest of it to a Navajo mission or some other needy group? Thats what I did a few years back when I hunted in NM.A lot less hassle ,and you get to help out some needy people. Just a thought.

    carving ?

    I have done a lot of carving and grinding on antlers and have not noticed any ill effects. That being said, I have heard of people getting sick from breathing the dust when exposed to it day after day. I would advise wearing good face masks.And vaccuming the work area after work is done.
