Very nice ram indeed! Great mass through his 3rd quarter - nice. He was the boss with no chips from fighting.

Really dirty barrel? Need to re zero in?

Agree with has been stated: You never clean a barrel that is grouping great! Regardless of when the last cleaning was done or how many rounds have been shot. Only when it stops grouping well do you clean it! Stop where you are at and go shoot it and hope it starts to group again after...

    Wasatch Moose

That is a very good moose for Utah! You do realize a bigger moose is most likely not going to show up! If you are still able to re-locate him go do it and smile for the camera. I think you are dreaming for a better bull!

    Yukon sheep and moose

You have had a once in a lifetime hunt getting both fantastic trophies. Getting a great ram and then a monster bull moose does not happen often. Enjoy your success because it will most likely only get harder going forward. Fantastic hunt!

    Stone Sheep

The reason for my inquire is that Devlin and her husband are divorced and he is now running the outfit as Bluestone - that's why the name change. So was wondering if the outfit is as good as when the Bradford's had it? Thanks

    Backpack Desert Bighorn (Pics)

Very nice write-up and great photographs! She is an exceptional lady hunter! Not many woman could pull that hunt off especially with a fractured ankle. In my book she ranks up there with the best of the huntress hunters. It does not get any better!

    ALTITUDE SICKNESS???

Typically, it takes three days to acclimate to high altitudes and if you don't start to acclimate you need to leave for lower elevation and not wait. As has been stated altitude sickness can affect either the head as Cranial Edema - the headache, the lung as Pulmonary Edema - coughing up...

How to pack for a sheep hunt

Regarding bringing home sheep meat you may have a problem with the airlines. I would make a call to each one you are using coming home and if they are OK with it print out a copy of their regulations for back-up. It's also very expensive meat having to pay the extra baggage fees. On my sheep...

    243 win for elk?

When you go out this weekend have your wife shoot with her hunting clothes - long sleeve shirt, sweater, coat etc. This will make the 270 recoil not an issue. Also, I would recommend the TTSXBT as well, as it will maintain both its velocity and energy significantly better. The blue tipped...

    2016 NWT Hunt

Fantastic bull moose! Big bull moose like yours is difficult to take care of. It is difficult to move and/or roll a big moose for processing and skinning, as well as getting it to the landing strip. My question is how did you and your guide do this unless there was more than the two of you...

Plus 3 on the extra spare tire, as well as four tire chains. The weather can change when it's not suppose to. Do not venture into this area with just ?Ok? tires. I would also bring a can of instant flat tire fix and a pump. Also, make sure all belts and hoses are excellent or replace them. New...

    Moose meat

I am very picky about wild game - got a bad taste for it when I was young. I always give my deer and elk away to friends. Moose has no fat on it. What you see on the hoof is 100% lean meat. When I took my Utah moose it was a game changer for me. If you want to know how it tastes purchase...

    ammo help for desert sheep

What has been said above is all true. However, the most important variable of all is what does your rifle shoot accurately out to 400 yards. All the bullets mentions are very good if your gun says so. So you need to do some real time testing. You need to be able to hit an eight inch circle...

    Non-resident AZ Supplemental class January 3, 2015

Why the discrimination for those who took Hunter Education before 1980? What justification was used to establish the rule at 1980? Can it be appealed/challenged before your January class? It's wrong you know and needs to be corrected. Thank you.

    300 win mag bullet

Both of those bullets are great. However, you need to determine what your rifle likes, i.e. how accurate are they or any other you may try. You may have the best bullet out there but your rifle will not group well. Some rifles are only accurate with one bullet. So you may need to shoot more than...
