Well, got up into Likely 2 days before the opener. Found goats in the normal spots, but man were they small. A buddy told me of a different spot to try, less pressure, found this 14 1/4" buck at 423 yards. Has great hooks and good mass.

I killed a buck that scored 173, this buck looks a little narrower but possibly longer tines. I'll go with 175"

Well, I flew into SFO on Sunday night from Cozumel, got home around 11:00pm, loaded the truck and out the door at 3:00am. Deer down at 9:00am. 42 yards, slight down hill shot put a 2" grim reaper through the heart. Deer didn't know what happened.

Lucky enough to draw the FHL bull tag last year. Miserable conditions, rained entire trip. Took this heavy 5x5, maybe smaller then what they have but happy with him for sure.

Haven't been on in a while, thought I would post some pics of our hunt last year in X3b. 4 of us ended up with 3 bucks, one of them a 28" 4x4. Kind of horrible pics, I had a little emergency I had to take care of, ended up going to the ER for stitches right after shooting my buck, long story.

I had it 3 years ago, seen a few deer, spent some time trying to get one of our buddies wife on a buck. The place I hunt needs weather, if not, it can be pretty slow. The day I left 3 years ago, it snowed the next day. My buddy killed one the next day. I should draw it again in 2012.

Check out the Fee reservoir area. If you get some weather its can be good, plus the Nevada hunters push deer over. It's where the locals go for big bucks. I killed a 173" there in '04. It's East of Fort Bidwell. Good luck!

I just finished a hog hunt on private land by Lake Sonoma. We went 6 out of 10 hogs killed, with the other 4 missing shots. Let me know if you want the number.

I use to have a lot of problems keeping my patterns tight. My friend told me to center the pin guard, made a big difference for me. Keeps my anchor point consistant.

Try Avila's taxidermy, I think he's in San Leandro. I took my mule deer to him and it turned out great. Check his show room, got some nice mounts. If you can't find him from 411, I may still have his card around somewhere.
