I cannot speak for CO unit 40 but in the past I have heard the other units (like 76 in CO) and most units in NM second rifle was significantly worse than 1st. It was a big difference, draw odds reflected this. On occasion I am tempted to try it, in unit 40 possibly, but always decide against it.

Good point, I agree some are throwing there $$$ away and do not understand. But some are expecting the system to change. I know a few guys that let app services apply them and they have no idea what is going on. Some think things are like they were a decade ago (or more) draw odds wise.

I have not looked into blackhorn 209, but we hunt Jackson WY each year and no powder is available there so we have someone hold powder for us and we all want to shoot the same thing - they use 777. I have heard a few mention water/ignition problems.

I still carry a much smaller newer version, this is my dad's and he is no longer able to hunt so I am trying to sell it for him.

I also read some say 777 does not last very long once opened? I have used pyrodex for well over a decade and never noticed any issues.

In a pinch if I had to substitute pyrodex P (fffg) in place of pyrodex RS (ffg) and I reduced volume 15% is that ok? What are the expected ballistic results from a 50 cal inline muzzleloader? I am only asking if it is safe, what % reduction to use and what a guestimate is for ballistic changes.

Not supposed to mail them. You cannot even fly with them. Silly cause you can fly with a 12 gauge 3" magnum slug with powder and a 209 primer but you cannot fly with just the primer!

Ironically my main rangefinder also limits 100 yards for the bow setting (horizontal distance calc.). But with rifle I think it is 800 yards or something.
