It looks as if the back door may be working under the controlled hunt section. My Hunt Choice Status changed to "Not Selected", or at least I think it did. Can anyone remember what that said originally?
We really appreciate all of the information. We actually live in Northern Utah and do regularly travel long distances to hunt but handling a bait site 5 hours away probably isn't feasible. I have spent a lot of time on the southern part of the Manti hunting elk so I am familiar with that area...
My wife and I have killed several bears in Idaho but we have never hunted bear in Utah. We each have enough points to draw most units in the state and we are not sure if we want to hunt this year or next but we figured we should start somewhere and begin to gather any information that we can...
I have the any deer tag for this unit and I have never killed a whitetail buck. For those of you that know and before I set my focus on a whitetail, what could I expect as far as mule deer quantity/quality on this unit?
My wife has a LE elk tag for units 75,77 and 78. We've hunted the last 6 days around the northeast portion of the unit around Skinner/Co-op canyons and have seen very few elk. Was wondering if anyone out there with knowledge of these units would consider sharing/trading(Utah)info. If so please...
LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-11 AT 10:14AM (MST)[p]She took this bull with her rifle on the second day of the rifle season. This was her 2nd bull in 5 days as she killed another 6pt on the Central Manti unit in Utah. Needless to say she is a very happy hunter.
Spent the last weekend scouting/archery hunting the Crooks Peak side of this unit and seen/heard very few elk. My wife has this tag and we will be looking over the Green Mountain side during the next few weekends.
For those who know, are there typically more elk on the Green Mountain side of...
Chad told me that he wanted to try something new and I am glad I let him. I guess he and one of his taxi friends decided to create this mouth on thier own and you're looking at the prototype.
The problem now is this new mount just totally outclasses my old mounts.
Just got my 2010 archery mount back from Chad Draper's shop (Blue Ridge Taxidermy). I think he did another excellent job for me.

I would never trade them days and the lessons learned, but I also have to say that I would not trade the newer technologies that now make my hunts more comfortable and are probably the reason why I can keep hunting as I age.
I'd like to now thank my grandpa for teaching me common sense and...
Those were fun days. I remember walking back to the car with 7 greenies tucked in my waist belt becuase there was no other place to put them.
And we never carried water with us. I can remember hunting all day without a drink of water. It was always a pleasure to get back to the truck and...
