I think there are other factors, mainly pressure, terrain and weather (maybe even moon phase). My 2 biggest bucks were killed at midday and 30 minutes before dark.

Agreed. I was just shocked at the lack of damage a 28 Nosler did at 170 yards with 4 "well placed" shots. All shots were what anyone would consider ideal. Maybe I will make it a deer only gun :)

WIth horses it is a much different hunt and Im sure a much higher sucess rate. I dont have horses, but we are working on a plan. We were doing nearly 20 miles a day on average for 3-5 days at a time last year and I dont think I can do that again... much too fat...
