Might be a long shot, but during my goat hunt I found a good bull moose in unit 48 and saw another good one in unit 45. If anyone out there has either of these tags, I'd be happy to point ya into the right drainages. I know these units can be tough areas to lock down moose. Let me know...

Yeah, saw quite a few goats. Put several unsuccessful stalks on billys before this one. But plenty of goats in this unit.

I hit the lottery and drew this tag first rifle starting Sept 4. I have done some scouting and spoke with the goat biologist. If anyone is willing, I'd love to hear from MM folks that have hunted goats here or just have some experiences/advise to pass along. Thanks!!!

I agree, maybe looking to the south/west towards twin lakes/independence pass. I have killed a few archery bulls in 48. It's some nice elk country...

I will be hunting 49 muzzleloader this year. I would be happy to let you know what I find during muzzy. I have killed bulls in 49 in archery and am pretty familiar with the unit. They are there, keep scouting and I wouldn't shoot the first 4 pt you see... There are some studs in there. Good luck!

Good decision! I have hunted 37, and it holds some decent numbers of elk. It can be steep, but look for those benches and hidden meadows. 37 is an excellent over the counter unit. Good luck!

I believe 38 is not on the list for state-wide archery cow tags. You might want to look into it before investing too much time. Good luck this year.

Good for you! A tri is on my bucket list. I am running "The Colorado Marathon" on May 5th. I am hoping that all this running is going to make for a easier hunt. Maybe I will actually be able to get in front of that herd bull this year!
