I have an archery tag. Its a Utah bear and my season ends May 31st. I may take the first legal bear I see for my first. It took four years to draw the tag.

Nothing at my bait site yet either. Bait has been out over a week. I did see a sow and 2 cubs a couple weeks ago while out hiking around.

Thanks one_dry! I guess I just put in for LE deer and if they reject me oh well. But then if I am rejected I get no bonus point! Its so hard to call the DWR and sit on hold all day then come to find out their not too sure. Anybody else been in the same situation? Kevlar

If a DH takes a deer each year for their first two years, can they still apply for a deer point or LE deer tag on their 3rd year? Kind of hard to figure out in the proc. Thanks, Kevlar

Thanks for the replies, the ones we have seen have all been in the cedars but they have all been on the east side of the unit. We have yet to see an elk on the west side of the highway. Thanks Kevlar

Anybody have any info on the area? We scouted the area before the opener but could not make the first few days of the hunt and now we are seeing very few elk.

Went out today and covered alot of ground. I picked up these two white ones and saw 36 bulls of which 31 were still packing. I did not spook the bulls that I saw and watched them through the spotter from a long way away.
