IMO 22-250 is not a good choice in an AR. Yes it's probably fun, but your basically going to an AR10 platform which is a lot heavier then the AR15. Not to mention only one place makes them and its called the UMAR by Olympic arms and they are hard to come by. As for what smitty said I have to...

I am sure every bullet has a chance to fail. I have heard bad things about all of them. I had a Nosler Accubond that I shot at a Bull elk 5 years ago out of my .270 at 60-80yds that didn't expand. The plastic tip fell off one side and that was basically it.

Here is a bull from the General hunt this year. I loaded up 168gr TTSX for my Dad's 30-06. The shot was about 80 yds steep downhill and this is the exit side. As you can see the one put a hole big enough the heart fell through.

Well went pretty good for us so far. Saw way more bulls this year then last. My father was able to take a 4 point opening morning. Everybody in camp has been at least seeing elk. One guy saw 9 bulls and only had a quick shot at one in the trees. I had to come back to work for a few days...

I have the best of both. I had my old cabelas bino harness sewed onto the front of my AGC Bino chest pack. Works great.
