I am planning an archery hunt this year for elk. Planning on buying an otc tag and hunting in one of the san juan units, 77, 751, or 78. Im planning to backpack into or around the weminuche or south san juan wilderness. I need help with a general area that holds elk to get started or a trailhead or two to check out. I can help anyone willin to help me out by tradin some info on a few sleeper elk units in arizona where ive hunted for 12 years now or some good units for coues deer or any other info. Timing on the rut in that area is something else i am curious about.
